Jamlab
App
A booking and collaboration platform for India's independent musicians
Discovery and Strategy
India’s independent music scene has exploded in the last decade, but infrastructure hasn’t caught up. Musicians often rely on WhatsApp groups, word-of-mouth, or outdated Google listings to locate jampads or studios, leading to: - Low visibility of available spaces - Lack of verified reviews - Poor booking and availability tracking - Inefficient discovery of options based on location, budget, or equipment needs
Jamlab is a discovery and booking platform that connects musicians with verified jampads and music studios in Tier-1 cities across India. Born from a deep empathy for the grassroots music scene, the app solves a long-standing gap: the difficulty independent artists face in finding reliable, affordable, and available practice spaces.
Creation and Deliverables
I led the end-to-end creation of a platform built to empower India’s independent musicians — not just by solving a logistical gap, but by reimagining how collaboration, accessibility, and creativity could come together in one seamless experience. From conducting 20+ in-depth interviews with our target group to mapping behavioral journeys and friction points, I translated real-world insights into an intuitive product ecosystem. Thereafter, I designed Jamlab’s architecture: wireframes, high-fidelity prototypes, and a custom design system with accessibility at the core of it, while also building smart collaboration features like jam-mate invites and real-time bill-splitting.
Beyond the interface, I shaped the MVP strategy, monetization model, and future roadmap, grounding each deliverable in community insight and product viability. Jamlab wasn’t just an app — it was a platform designed to make creative momentum frictionless, inclusive, and scalable. Jamlab was selected for incubation by Runway Incubator, a program known for backing mission-driven startups at the intersection of creativity and technology. Being part of this ecosystem provided not just mentorship and early validation, but also the strategic structure to refine Jamlab’s core offering.
Case Study
What if booking a jam session was as effortless as ordering a coffee? Jamlab was born from that simple question and a deep-rooted belief that India’s independent musicians deserve better infrastructure to create, collaborate, and thrive.
