Challenge

Madverse had a growth target, but the real constraint wasn't acquisition, it was trust. Independent artists were hesitating to commit their music, royalties, and income to a platform they didn't fully understand, and product research kept surfacing the same pattern: confusion around publishing, royalty splits, and copyright was quietly capping activation, adoption, and retention, even as the product itself grew more capable.

Solution

Rather than marketing features individually, I treated the artist journey as a trust problem to be solved stage by stage, pairing education and UX changes to the exact moments artists hesitated, sequencing product launches with founder-led communication and CRM education instead of feature announcements, and building an AI-assisted first-response workflow to keep support fast when volume spiked. When a two-week infrastructure outage tested all of it at once, the same principle held: communicate proactively, put a visible human in front of the community, and never let silence stand in for an update.
